2021 Youth of The Year Application Process

Step 1:

• Follow the checklist provided by BGCA

Step 2:

• Complete candidate nomination form

Step 3:

• Create a resume that follows BGCA guidelines
• Sample resume
• Resume template

Step 4:

• Create a cover letter that follows BGCA guidelines
• Sample cover letter
• Cover letter template

Step 5:

• Review essay instructions
• The three essay topics:
• My Club Experience
• What Matters to Me
• Overcoming Obstacles

Step 6:

• Obtain two letters of recommendation
• Club Recommendation
• Community Recommendation

Step 7:

• Sign up for Alumni & Friends Club
• Only do this if you are a junior or senior in high school

Step 8:

• Get required forms signed by a parent or guardian
• Emergency Care Release Form
• Authorization Form
• General Waiver Form
• Alumni & Friends Enrollment Acknowledgment Form
• Code of Conduct Form

Step 9:

• Review all required materials and submit application

Step 10:

• Breathe a sigh of relief!!
